The First Blog Post

Wow.  This is my first blog post which must mean that the website is up and running.  I thought it was time to put my work ‘out there’ after largely shooting landscapes for my own enjoyment.  For those that have encouraged me to take this next step, I thank you for your kind words.  My intention is to offer a simple website displaying my favourite images and if it resonates with you, the site offers a method to purchase a print.  I researched a lot of websites during this process and I continually found that photography websites usually have too many images.  It was hard to see their best photos.  I’d like to offer a different approach where only my favourites are posted.  Stay tuned and I’ll note on my blog when I’ve uploaded a new set of favorites.  I’ll upload different themes like black and white, minimalism, fall colors etc so you should be able to see a variety of images.  I’d love to hear your feedback so let me know what you think either on the Facebook page, the main website or via email.

The designer responsible for making me look professional (and not drag and drop templates anymore!), is Mr Ian Doig (www.iandoigdesign.com).  Ian put all of this together over the last 6 months and we have been working pretty hard the last couple of weeks since a baby Doig is going to be born any day now.  I can’t say enough good about Ian; he read exactly what I was looking for and continually took my ideas, significantly improved them (or just came up with better ideas all together!) and crafted them into the visual package that is found at http://www.finnerphotography.com.  Thanks Ian!
I’ll use this blog to to announce image uploads and give them a story.  If you have any questions as to how I took the photo, don’t hesitate to email me, my contact info is located at the main website.  I’ll announce via Twitter and Facebook when new images are posted.  I’d love to hear from you so send me a note anytime.
